The savefile RPGCGIA3 contained in this zip file includes the files etc. required to create and run the sample programs relating to the third article in our "RPG for the Web" series.

Before you can use this save file you must transfer it and restore it on your AS/400 or iSeries system. The savefile was produced at V4R4, if you require an earlier release then please contact Jon.Paris@e400.com specifiying the release required.

If you are not familar with the techniques required to upload and restore a savefile in this format, we suggest you study the script that was supplied with the save files that relate to Parts 1 and 2 in this series.

NOTE: This library does NOT include the CGIDEV2 components required for SPECIALC and PAYCGIDEV2. You should obtain this library by downloading it from www.easy400.ibm.it. Once you have downloaded and restored the library you should follow the CGIDEV2 install instructions that come with it.

The sample programs supplied are as follows:

PAYRPTSA - this is a simple conversion of the original report program using the SPECIAL file program SPECIALA to produce its web output. SPECIALA uses the "build the HTML in the program" method used in the original examples.

PAYRPTSB - this is the same as PAYRPTSA but uses "file" SPECIALB. This uses %Replace and constants to build the HTML.

PAYRPTSC - again this is the same as PAYRPTSA but uses "file" SPECIALC. This uses the CGIDEV2 library. The HTML source is contained in member PAYRPTHTML.

PAYCGIDEV2 - This is a version of the "Page at a time" program that uses CGIDEV2 for all of its CGI functions. The HTML skeleton is contained in member PAYCGIHTML.

If you experience any problems with these programs please feel free to contact us at any time.

We hope you enjoy "playing" with this new tool.
